Portrait Trade Project
PORTRAIT PROJECT
I have been working on a portrait trade project for a few years. I tend to work with performers, folks that like costuming, or folks I generally admire. These can be promo pics for bands, performance groups, etc.
MY PROCESS
As I don’t sell my work - it’s hard to pay folks for modeling (which they greatly deserve). The way I work is I find people of interest and see if they want portraits or have any needs for promotional material. The model or subject then gets to choose location, concept, dress, etc. This way both parties find something of value and the shoot is being lead by the model or subject. All images in the slideshow were shot that way. I only charge to cover my costs, travel, etc.
You own all images and can do what you want with them. If I use them for a book or sell prints I offer a percentage of sales.
Book tba/Print 25% of sale after costs.
This then allows the subject to be the artist and my way of collaborating is my eye. I mostly follow the lead of the model/subject, but happy to direct if needed. I look for people with a shared sense of style, aesthetic, or interests.
Please look through my images to see if you might be a good fit into the work I do, and the way I do it. I do not take all requests but only ones that fit into my style and interest of shooting.
