EVENT DOCUMENTARY STYLE PHOTOGRAPHY
I approach documenting weddings/events from an artist and documentary viewpoint. I capture more behind the scenes emotional stories that together form a true narrative of the event. I capture what I consider a type of sacred art and use filters and such to bring out the magic of the day. My focus is more photography as art not as a service. I don’t generally take posed images (except for documenting wedding party) I work in a more behind the scenes manner and blend in to the background. This also means I don’t have to take too much of your time away from you enjoying the event. I also offer shooting on film as it’s nice to have physical images that can last for decades. I don’t upsell materials as you just pay for cost of buying and processing/ printing film. I generally shoot alone or with one back up shooter and therefore can charge less then many other photographers. My packages for a full day of shooting at 6 hours or more are a flat $3500 plus costs of travel. I also shoot smaller weddings and events (50 people or less) at a day rate of $2500. I specialize in LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC events. I also a offer discounted work for those in financial hardship. I ask for financial proof and base it on if a family makes less than 30,000 collectively. I do this as a mix with my pro Bono work.
